HHF - Life Adventures of the Bontrager's

Oke, i know it's been FOREVER since i've posted but clinicals and school and work are KINDA kickin' me in the rear. So sorry about that! :-) Now in case you don't know, October is one of my favorite months of the year. I LOVE fall and the start of cold weather, the changing leaves, and most of all....SPOOK TIME! Dan and i are going to be going to the Roca Haunted Farm in Roca sometime in the next week and i can't wait!!! We've been so busy that we haven't been able to go yet this year and i've been looking forward to it! (dan isn't particularily fond of it due to the broken eardrums he receives and the constant jumping etc.,. by me :-) however, my start to the spook time mood was making a new wreath for our front door and decking the boys out in their "halloween costumes". Our worship and arts ministry at church had a pig roast/hayrack ride at a farm south of Firth. We had a BEAUTIFUL night and a great time. Here are some pics of the evening... Well, that is CERTAINLY not a word that seems to ever fit into my vocabulary, let alone my life. However, I really am going to make an effort at enacting this word into my daily life. Why you might ask? Well Dan and I are studying a book for our Bible Study and it's called "the Life You've Always Wanted" by John Ortberg. My favorite chapter so far is the chapter we are going over this week and it's about having an Undivided Life...a simplictic heart. Having simplicity at heart according to Clifford Williams is: "The motives we appear to have are the ones we REALLY DO have. Our inner focus is unified and our public posture corresponds with it. We are not, in short, divided." The bible is clear on this subject and i feel that my life is not very aligned to this calling. I feel most of the time that i am like a monkey in a banana tree constantly jumping up and down....it's rarely still or quiet. (Henri Nouwen) I WANT a heart of simplicity! I want...

Dan and I went with his parents (Gerald & Linda) to the FIRST game of the season last Saturday evening. It was an AWESOME game and we had a blast! NE played Western Michigan and they walloped them with a finishing score of 47-24. Here are some pictures from our adventure that night... GO HUSKERS!!! :-)

Isn't this the CUTEST thing ever?! Well if you're reading this and you know me very well at all, you know what a ZOOAHOLIC I am!! Dan's company gave him free admission to the Lincoln Children's Zoo for himself and I and we went on Sunday afternoon after church. Needless to say, it was my FAVORITE date in a long time! It's always such a treat to for me to get to see all the amazing animals... especially the Lemurs! They are only found on one island in the WHOLE entire world, Madagascar. That's one of my life goals is to go to Madagascar and see the Lemurs in the wild and in person. I don't know why but I've always been fascinated with them and their BEAUTIFUL, brilliantly-golden eyes. Anyway, we had a great time just wandering around the zoo petting goats, horses and a gazillion other animals. It was really relaxing...i highly recommend it! :-) Anyway, here's some pictures of our "date" at the Zoo... Dan is trying to be as "stoic...

Us at a Saltdog's Baseball Game...We LOVE going to their games!!! Well! It's been a HECTIC last 6 weeks!!! I'm in my 6th week of clinicals right now and i'm getting REALLY tired of school and busy-work in general. I feel like the only thing I do anymore is schoolwork, Dr.'s cards, busy-work, and real work. My life basically consists of a hospital, working with horses, and the animal clinic! Dan and I are really looking forward to Nashville and a nice 5 day vacation away from everything. Only 3 weeks away.... Here are some pics from our LifeGroup at church on one of our "fun nights" Tim and Erin's family was wonderful to us and provided us with the entertainment of a boat and we had a great time at Branched Oak Lake...

So last night (Friday) turned out to be one of the best nights of the summer so far! We went fishing at Damon's place with Damon, G, Dan and myself. Some Swisher-Sweet cigars, a few cold ones, and poles.....we had a BLAST! We didn't have much luck in the fish department (Ok Ok, I didn't have any luck!) But we had a great time hangin' out under the full moon and starlit sky. It was fantastic! And Dan actually caught a big fish! Go Danny Boy! :-) G's weighing Dan's fish here... The "Big Catch" All the boys (and Koda of coarse!) Koda and I decided to sleep in the back of the golf cart after no luck...he's a great pillow/warmer! :-)
